About the Bowls Club

Longmeadow Indoor Bowls Club is part of the Longmeadow Sports Centre, located next to Whitchurch Football Club.

We currently have over 100 members and run competitive leagues in the afternoons and evenings. We also run club nights and provide coaching for our newer members. Our ladies take part in the Riversmeet League − a competition for Indoor Clubs in Hampshire. We have approximately 12 friendlies each season, which take place on Sunday Afternoons, and we also host the Moreton Cup " a competition for outdoor clubs " in which some of the best teams in the county take part.

Our season runs from mid-September until early April.

The Bowls Hall was built in 1978 and, at the time, was the first indoor bowling facility in North Hampshire. While newer facilities tend to have a wooden base, unusually, our carpet is laid on a concrete base, which is widely considered a better surface to bowl on. Longmeadow has recently undergone extensive refurbishment with a new roof, new LED lighting, a refurbished carpet, complete redecoration and new flooring. This was made possible by generous grants from both Basingstoke and Dean Council, and Sport England.
